I have a passion for socks. This is new, so I’m still in the honeymoon stage of this relationship, but so far everything is blissful and lovely.

A while back I had finally filled up a punch card at the Fiber Gallery, and I gleefully redeemed my $20 in-store credit. There were several yarns that I had my eye on, but the new Kureyon Sock Yarn from Noro had me at hello:

GUH. It feels like it would be too coarse to be sock yarn, but I’ve seen it knit up into a sock and washed, and it’s just luscious. I couldn’t resist; the $20 credit was just enough to buy a single skein, which is more than enough yardage for a pair of socks. So I dug through Interweave’s Favorite Socks and came up with the Retro Sock pattern.

So cool! Yes, I’m in love. 😉

But wait, there’s more. I have two other fantastic sock yarns that I’ve picked up in the recent past which I have plans for (but sadly, not enough time to have them on the needles already). The first is Lorna’s Laces’ Shepherd Sock in Black Purl, which I want to knit up in the Embossed Leaves pattern from the same book:

The second was a purchase made at Shuttles, Spindles & Skeins while I was in Boulder back in November; Lonesome Stone’s Mountain Feat in Midnight Forest, which I want to make up into Waving Lace socks:

So many pretties, so little time!
